NASA SACOM (National Aeronautics and Space Administration / Synergy-Achieving Consolidated Operations and Maintenance) involves the consolidation of a variety of activities at Stennis Space Center and Michoud Assembly Facility to achieve cost savings. The contract scope includes extensive engineering tasks, facilities maintenance and select life support services at these major NASA sites.
As NASA prepares for space operations in the next decade, PAE, though its S3 joint venture, supports test operations for rocket test stands and manufacturing of space vehicles.
PAE, as part of the joint venture S3, provides comprehensive support running all aspects of the Stennis Space Center and Michoud Assembly Facility. This includes managing and providing expertise in the following areas:
- Engineering (facility and test ops)
- Project Management
- Construction Management
- Operations and Maintenance
- Test Operations
- Marine Operations
- Transportation/ground support equipment
- Cafeterias at both sites
- Medical Clinics at both sites
- Fire Department at SSC
- Wellness Center at SSC
Reduce the costs associated with supporting Stennis and MAF operations to make NASA more competitive in attracting customers to use the test and manufacturing facilities at those locations.
PAE developed an effective plan to consolidate all the different support areas under one management team. This allowed NASA to realize the cost savings they were looking for and become competitive in attracting customers to their sites.
