How Do You Lead, Innovate and Inspire?
“I make sure that when someone comes into the organization that I set the tone that is part of the PAE standard. With HR, this means having a thorough understanding of what the needs are and what teams need from me. I like to create an open forum where they can feel comfortable. There are no silly questions and I want to do the same for my future team at PAE. During exit interviews, there is a clear and guided communication on repeating topics. You must have a clear understanding of what you’re looking to accomplish for your end goals.”
What Was the Best Career Advice You Ever Received?
“‘Always assume good will.’ A former manager once told me ‘not to take things personally.’ There are going to be things that happen during business transactions and in HR. You build relationships and rapport with people because you work with them all the time. This is why you can’t take things personally: it’s a business relationship.”
What Should Women Consider Before Working in This Field?
“Be sure that this is the field that you are interested in. If it is, this field is very rewarding. Stand strong with your morals and ethics. Be 100 percent sure before going head-first and have that internal compass.”
