One of PAE’s goals in becoming a publicly-traded company earlier this year has been to increase its financial capacity for acquisitions through paying down and refinancing debt and access to more capital.
PAE said today it has agreed to pay $208 million in cash for CENTRA Technology, which specializes in intelligence support, information analytics and engineering services.
CENTRA, based in Burlington, MA, has more than 760 employees, a majority of whom have top-secret clearances. The company counts among its customers intelligence agencies, the Defense Department and the Department of Homeland Security.

Falls Church-based defense and government services contractor Pacific Architects and Engineers (PAE) announced Monday plans to acquire Burlington, Massachusetts-based Centra Technology Inc. for $208 million in cash.

PAE has been awarded a $50 million contract by the Navajo Nation to serve as the joint logistics and medical integrator for the Navajo Department of Health’s COVID-19 response, the company reported on Thursday. With the company’s selection, PAE will provide solutions to operate multiple Alternate Care Sites and deploy mobile testing teams.
