ARLINGTON, Va., September 5, 2013 - PAE, a leading provider of integrated global mission services, is pleased to welcome William "Bill" Lietzau as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel to its leadership team.
Prior to joining PAE, Bill served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Rule of Law and Detainee Policy at the U.S. Department of Defense. In this position, Bill was responsible for developing and coordinating global policy guidance relating to Rule of Law initiatives, as well as the detention of captured enemy forces. A retired Marine Corps officer, Bill previously served as the Deputy Legal Adviser to the National Security Council and in a number of uniformed roles. These included service as an installation commander, military judge, Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, military prosecutor, defense counsel, treaty negotiator, commander of a recruit training battalion, director of several Navy and Marine Corps offices, infantry company commander, and as the Staff Judge Advocate of U.S. European Command, which then had responsibility for most of the African continent.
Bill's broad experience in national security policy, rule of law capacity building, installation management, international law, criminal law, counter-narcotics, interdictions, counter terrorism, non-proliferation, foreign assistance and treaty implementation, among other areas, will be key to PAE's continued support of U.S. missions around the world.
In his new role, Bill will work with Whit Cobb, who has served as PAE's Senior Vice President and General Counsel since February 2012. Prior to taking his current role at PAE, Whit served as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for BAE Systems, Inc., and as Deputy General Counsel (Legal Counsel) of the Department of Defense.
