PAE to Lead American Heart Association's Greater Washington Heart Walk as Signature Sponsor
ARLINGTON, Va., February 14, 2014 – PAE, a leading provider of integrated global mission services headquartered in Northern Virginia, is leading its local community in the fight against cardiovascular disease. PAE CEO John Heller, who will serve as Chairman for the 2014 Greater Washington American Heart Association Heart Walk, views the Heart Walk as a way to engage his workforce in a campaign that will ultimately help employees improve their own health, in addition to raising money for a lifesaving research.
“Our employees are our most important asset, and the Heart Walk is a great opportunity to contribute to a cause that matters to our workforce,” said Heller. “Everyone has a friend, relative or coworker who has been affected by cardiovascular diseases in some way. Through this campaign, we will raise awareness of preventable risks, promote healthy behaviors and support those who have already been affected by heart disease.” PAE’s employees will be encouraged to participate in the “Take Steps Towards a Healthier You,” campaign that will start in February and will culminate in the Heart Walk on Saturday, November 8 on the National Mall in Washington, DC. Employees from PAE’s sites around the world will be able to participate in the company’s internal campaign and form teams to participate in other Heart Walks scheduled in major cities around the country and in some overseas locations.
Last year, over 8,000 individuals participated in the Greater Washington Heart Walk and helped the local chapter of the American Heart Association raise over $1.7 million for cardiovascular disease research and prevention programs. PAE is a leading provider of integrated global mission services to the U.S. government and its allied partners. For over fifty years, PAE has provided training, logistics, and operations and maintenance services to support complex missions for customers around the world.
