ARLINGTON, Va., November 7, 2011 - Pacific Architects and Engineers Incorporated (PAE) has completed the purchase of Defense Support Services, LLC (DS2), a leading provider of military aircraft and vehicle maintenance, logistics and base support services for the U.S. government.
Founded in 2004 as a joint venture between Lockheed Martin and Day & Zimmermann, DS2 has established a strong reputation as a provider of quality services to their customers around the world. "We saw an opportunity to combine complementary service offerings, extend our geographic footprint and enhance our agility and cost-effectiveness, which are critical to our customers," said PAE President Mike Dignam. "By incorporating DS2's expertise in aviation maintenance and logistics with our existing capabilities, the combined organization will be able to provide its customers with a broader spectrum of services to meet their mission requirements."
"The employees of DS2 appreciate the opportunity to expand our prospects for providing value-added support services to a broader customer environment while maintaining our high standards of service to our current customer base," said DS2 President John Keating.
PAE has provided mission critical services to the United States government and other customers for over fifty years. With the addition of DS2, PAE will employ over 10,000 individuals operating in over 40 countries with over 100 locations throughout the United States.
